Fall Trip 2018- Day Five

"...its about the journey, not the destination..."

My bike sitting out in the rain. It still looks great!
When we got up Sunday morning there was only a 15% chance of rain until 2pm. Curtis cooked breakfast and then we went up into the Pisgah National Forest, Gary and Curtis to hike, and me to work on my blog. We got about 4 miles up into the park and then rode right into rain. So much for 15%! I turned around and rode out of the rain, and stopped at the visitor's center to work on the blog at a picnic table.  The good news is that I finished my entry for the day. The bad news is that the rain reached me 45 minutes after I stopped there. I scrambled to put my computer in the travel box, got on my rain jacket and helmet, and beat it back to the house. It rained off and on until mid day, and then became misty.

This is the room I sleep in. Very comfy.

I spent the afternoon listening to the Eagle's game, which, unfortunately, they lost in overtime. Since it was my birthday the McNay boys decided to cook me a birthday dinner. Sauteed chicken, fresh green beans with almond slivers, and a large salad. Dinner was enjoyed by all.

The view from the door to my room. Curtis and Gary slept in a loft over the kitchen, in which they are preparing dinner.

That night I played The Avengers: Age of Ultron on my computer. We talked, joked, and generally enjoyed the film. Our hope was that the weather would improve for Monday. Gary and Curtis were going home, and I was a man on a mission!

The view towards my room. The cabin is roomy, and works very for us.
